Here’s an update from Jane Walker, who a lot of you will know is our concert organiser and fundraiser:
“Usually at this time, I am busy preparing for my Christmas Stalls which are held in the atrium at University College London Hospital, but unfortunately my stalls have not recommenced yet in the atrium as there are still strict social distancing measures in place in the hospital to continue mitigating the spread of COVID and especially to protect immune suppressed patients.
I have missed my card-making so much and the cards always are a huge success at my stalls, so I decided at the beginning of November to get cracking with my handmade cards as part of my fundraising this Christmas – all the proceeds from the sales of the cards will go directly to supporting Professor Brown and his team in their research into lung infection, including pneumonia and bronchiectasis.
I have also organised a recording of some carols which can be accessed online via a link at your convenience from 9th December, performed by our great friends and supporters, The Holst Singers. I will be setting up a fundraising Justgiving page to coincide with the link to access the carols. The Holst Singers are one of our leading choirs in the UK and are renowned for their superb choral skills and gorgeous warm tone quality – listening to the choir is a real treat not to be missed.”
